Test Engineer - TS/SCI with Polygraph

Description

The company provides cyber security risk management as a service across multiple fabrics and centers, working with a customer to keep operational IT capabilities timely, accurate and secure.

You will join a team of systems engineers and software developers that specifies, designs, builds, tests and deploys the end-state system in an iterative, scrum-based process inside AWS, where requirements and priorities can change quickly.

Clearance: you must currently hold a Top Secret SCI clearance with polygraph, or be able to obtain one.

Security clearance level required to currently possess: Top Secret SCI + Polygraph. Clearance required to be able to obtain: Top Secret SCI + Polygraph. Public Trust or other clearance: none. Job family: Software Engineering. Regular requisition.

Responsibilities

• Run automated and manual software testing.
• Write test plans from software requirements and technical specifications.
• Find new test scenarios and write detailed test cases that cover all aspects of the software.
• Carry out functional, regression, integration, usability and performance testing as needed.
• Log defects and track each one to resolution.
• Work with team members to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
• Create test data by generating and updating files in XML, JSON, CSV and Microsoft Excel formats, and by generating data suited to specific applications.
• Use Python, R or SQL to manipulate and generate data, and Bash or PowerShell to automate routine tasks.
• Query, insert and update database records as part of data generation, and check the quality and validity of generated data.
• Document data generation steps, including parameters, assumptions and transformations.
• Test web applications with Selenium WebDriver, Appium, Cypress or JMeter, and manage test cases in Zephyr.
• Test custom applications with frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, NUnit, Protractor or PyTest.
• Test headless applications through APIs such as REST.
• Debug automated test scripts and read application logs and error messages to find root causes.
• Work with large and small development teams in an Agile process.
• Manage code and collaborate through version control systems such as GitHub or GitLab.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, AWS Pipeline or DevOps practices.
• Test applications on cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Communicate with team leads and senior leadership and adjust direction quickly as requirements change.

Requirements

• 6+ years of related experience.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a closely related discipline.
• Knowledge of testing and automated testing approaches.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), automated testing, manual testing, test automation tools and test engineering.
• US citizenship is required.
• Desired: knowledge of testing in a cloud architecture.
• Desired: a commitment to keeping up with advances in software testing, data creation techniques, tools and best practices.

Conditions

Location: Bethesda, MD, on the customer site. Onsite work only.

40 scheduled hours per week.

Travel: less than 10%.

Contract type: regular.

Clearance: Top Secret SCI with active polygraph required.

Salary range is $157,250 to $212,750, based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements; pay may fall outside this range and is not guaranteed.
