Description

The team builds frontier models and products used by millions of people, covering pretraining, post-training, evaluation, and launch. Technical Program Managers sit in a central team and work closely with the research, product, and engineering groups they support.

This role leads planning, prioritization, and delivery for the data infrastructure that supports pretraining research and development. You will work with researchers, engineers, and technical leads to turn changing needs into a clear roadmap, leaner workflows, and dependable delivery.

The job mixes technical program leadership with a product and user experience focus. The people you serve are researchers and engineers who work with data, so learning how they work, where they get stuck, and what speeds up research will be central to your impact.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a single roadmap for data infrastructure, converting user needs into requirements, priorities, milestones, and outcomes you can measure.
  • Set up and keep a central backlog of requests and gaps, and make tradeoffs and decisions visible to everyone.
  • Talk directly with researchers and engineers to find pain points, then turn their feedback into concrete fixes.
  • Work with technical owners to manage dependencies, infrastructure tradeoffs, and blockers, and make sure they get resolved on time.
  • Align teams, cut duplicated effort, and join tools into smooth end-to-end workflows, particularly where work crosses organizational lines.
  • Report status, risks, and decisions to stakeholders and leadership using light processes that fit a fast-moving environment.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience running complex technical programs across several teams, ideally in data infrastructure, large-scale infrastructure, or developer tooling.
  • Working knowledge of data pipelines, distributed systems, or ML workflows, enough to hold credible conversations with technical audiences.
  • A record of turning user needs into prioritized investments and better experiences.
  • Experience managing dependencies, owning accountability, and adjusting plans as priorities shift, especially when the path is unclear.
  • Strong written and spoken communication, and a history of getting stakeholders aligned and moving without formal authority over them.
  • Technical Program Management IC4. The typical base pay range across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. For roles in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
  • This position stays open for at least 5 days, and applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until it is filled.
