Description

This full-time engineering role is for a systems engineer who solves complex problems, integrates systems, and designs software-enabled solutions that improve mission outcomes.

You will work in changing mission settings, collaborate across technical and operational groups, and see how your work supports wider organizational goals.

The role supports sensitive national security programs and requires a current TS/SCI clearance. An active CI Polygraph is strongly preferred, but candidates who are eligible and willing to obtain one are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Work through difficult technical problems by thinking about whole systems.
  • Map how separate systems, people, and processes depend on each other to reach mission goals.
  • Build technical solutions that are practical, can grow, and are easy to maintain.
  • Share information clearly with engineering, operations, and leadership staff.
  • Write clear technical documents so systems can be sustained over the long term.
  • Find chances to automate work, connect systems, and keep improving.
  • Stay productive when priorities shift, while keeping strategic goals in view.
  • Act with professionalism and good judgment, and protect sensitive national security information.

Requirements

  • Required:
  • Hold an active TS/SCI clearance with an active CI Polygraph, or be able and willing to obtain a CI Polygraph.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in a technical field, or have equivalent experience.
  • Work in person in an office at the company's facilities in Sterling, VA or Denver, CO.
  • Have 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, systems integration, solution architecture, or related technical fields.
  • Have 3+ years of experience with mission management applications or enterprise data integration.
  • Show a record of solving complex technical and operational problems.
  • Have integrated software applications, enterprise systems, APIs, databases, and distributed technologies.
  • Have tested systems and worked with automated application testing frameworks.
  • Understand systems engineering principles and the system development lifecycle well.
  • Have designed or built automation that raises operational efficiency and cuts manual work.
  • Write strong technical documents, such as architecture documents, interface control documents, system diagrams, procedures, and engineering artifacts.
  • Communicate and collaborate well with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities while staying aligned with strategic mission goals.
  • Prioritize your own work, manage several efforts, and deliver high-quality results in dynamic environments.
  • Have experience with Agile development methods and Atlassian Suite tools (Jira, Confluence).
  • Desired:
  • Desired: experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of War (DoW) organizations.
  • Desired: familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Desired: familiarity with PowerShell, JavaScript, Java, or similar programming and scripting languages.
  • Desired: familiarity with REST APIs, microservices, message queues, and distributed system architectures.
  • Desired: knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), enterprise architecture, or digital engineering practices.
  • Desired: familiarity with AI-enabled decision support, advanced analytics, or data engineering solutions.
  • Desired: Security+ or other relevant technical certifications, which are a plus.
