System Engineer

Description

This is an onsite role in Carson, CA. The systems engineer takes ownership of, or supports, technical engineering projects and makes sure the systems and components are configured to be robust and airworthy, applying sound engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert for system control, software and communication.
• Give input to programs and projects.
• Work independently on system or sustaining engineering efforts.
• Own the technical and project management side of a system or its components, with support from management or senior engineers.
• Serve as the main technical contact for your system and work with internal customers.
• Review and process engineering changes across projects and their components.
• Solve technical problems to own or support current and new projects.
• Research and test to troubleshoot issues, then propose design changes for review.
• Work with new suppliers when guidance is provided.
• Check that redesigns meet compliance, performance, safety and reliability standards for a robust design.
• Act as a technical contact for the external customer.
• Run root cause failure analyses that lead to design fixes or corrective actions.
