Description

The company runs 64 television stations in 51 U.S. markets and reaches more than 100 million people each month across web, mobile, streaming and linear TV.

This role is the main strategic partner to the Regional Marketing Director for Texas (RMD). You turn the RMD's strategy into integrated campaigns, manage the campaign calendar, and act as the daily marketing contact for station leaders across the portfolio.

The team needs someone who can handle complexity, earn stakeholder trust, and lead joint work across several teams and markets.

Responsibilities

  • Write a campaign brief for each initiative that turns RMD strategy into a plan with objectives, target audiences, key messages, channel mix and success metrics, then get the RMD's approval before work starts.
  • Own the regional campaign calendar and delivery timeline so every campaign is planned, staffed and launched on schedule and to specification.
  • Lead campaign development and delivery, coordinating Production, Paid Media, Social, CRM, Lifecycle and other central teams.
  • Direct the Marketing Specialist to set up campaigns in monday.com, and check that each board has the correct owners, timelines and deliverables.
  • Work with Production during creative development, sharing audience, brand and business context for concepts and scripts.
  • Make sure every asset meets creative and strategic standards, stays on brand and on message, and is built to perform.
  • Set priorities across many campaigns running at once, make trade-offs, and escalate strategic conflicts to the RMD when needed.
  • Act as the daily marketing partner to station general managers, news directors and content leaders in the region.
  • Share campaign plans, status and results clearly, manage expectations, agree priorities, and raise problems early.
  • Keep the market knowledge and continuity that let central teams move quickly and credibly in each market.
  • Build measurement frameworks, and track and report performance against objectives for the RMD and station leaders.
  • Use audience data, ratings, digital analytics and market feedback to improve strategy, and turn performance patterns into recommendations for future planning and team practice.
  • Set an example in campaign discipline, strategic thinking and stakeholder communication, and help raise the consistency and skill of the marketing team.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to lead integrated campaigns across several markets, channels and stakeholder groups at the same time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including turning complex strategy into clear messages and creative briefs for stakeholders.
  • Strong skills in campaign planning, prioritization and project management, with experience in monday.com, Asana or similar tools.
  • Proven ability to coordinate paid media, social, CRM, content and other channels toward shared campaign goals.
  • Familiarity with audience research, ratings, digital analytics and performance measurement in a media or broadcast setting.
  • Comfort working in a 24/7 news environment with shifting priorities, breaking news demands and tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5-7 years in marketing, integrated campaign management or brand strategy. Media, broadcast or fast-moving content experience is strongly preferred.
  • You must be willing to travel to markets in the portfolio when needed.

Conditions

Travel to markets across the portfolio is required when needed.

Some roles are covered by a collective bargaining agreement, so some or all benefits listed may not apply. For example, some newsroom bargaining unit employees receive health and retirement benefits through union-administered plans.

Benefits

  • Medical coverage with two plan options for full-time and part-time employees through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, plus dental, eye care, fertility, surrogacy and adoption assistance, and disability and life insurance.
  • 401(k) with pre-tax contributions from 1% to 80% of pay. The company matches 100% of the first 4% of pay, and matched funds vest immediately.
  • All employees and eligible family members, whether or not they join the medical plans, get 9 free virtual doctor visits through Teladoc and 12 free therapy sessions a year with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.
  • Generous paid time off and 9 paid holidays each year.
