Description

The company builds the connectivity layer for AI, with a unified platform that secures, manages, governs and monetizes traffic across APIs and AI, on any model and any cloud. It is trusted by Fortune 500 firms and AI-native startups alike.

This role sits where API management meets AI connectivity. You will advise enterprise customers on designing secure, scalable API ecosystems as they move into agentic AI, and you will show them how the platform fits that picture.

Candidates who do not match every item below should still apply. The team is looking for people strong in a few areas, with some interest and skill in the rest.

Responsibilities

  • Work with field sales to show customers the value of the company's API and AI connectivity platform.
  • Hold discovery conversations to learn customer needs and match them to company solutions, from first product reviews through to production.
  • Run proofs of concept from start to finish, taking ownership of technical validation and getting stakeholders aligned.
  • Keep customers satisfied across your assigned accounts.
  • Work with support, product and engineering teams to push for customer needs.
  • Write technical documentation for DevOps, implementation and services work.
  • Lead or support API management and AI governance evaluations, including scoping API and AI use cases, LLM traffic management and governance needs.
  • Demonstrate the company's API and AI governance and agentic connectivity features, such as Model Context Protocol (MCP) governance, semantic caching, prompt guardrails and shadow AI detection.
  • Run API and AI-focused Technical Feasibility Workshops (TFWs) to test the platform's fit with modern and agentic architectures.
  • Own the technical strategy for complex deals with many stakeholders, from qualification to close.
  • Mentor and coach junior solutions engineers on technical skills, discovery and deal strategy.
  • Build thought leadership through technical blogs, webinars and talks at industry events and conferences, such as AWS re:Invent, Google Next, the API & AI Summit and regional events.
  • Turn customer feedback and market signals into useful input for the product team.
  • Take on other tasks as your manager requires.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering or solutions engineering experience at a SaaS, open source or enterprise software company.
  • A proven record of closing complex enterprise deals with multiple technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching other solutions engineers or technical staff.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and cloud-native platforms.
  • Experience with REST and GraphQL APIs, CI/CD pipelines and API security patterns such as OAuth2, OIDC and mTLS.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or OpenAI Codex, or equivalent. This is required.
  • Working knowledge of AI and LLM architectures, including model routing, rate limiting, semantic caching and prompt governance.
  • Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and agentic AI patterns.
  • A solid grasp of cloud computing trends and open source business models.
  • A strong listener and communicator who can lead discussions with engineers, architects and executives.
  • Comfort working in a high-profile, fast-moving setting at the crossroads of API and AI connectivity.
