Description

The role sits on the AI Search UX team, which builds search features and machine learning relevancy for the company's cloud platform, used by many large enterprises.

You will help drive quality and engineering standards across the whole development cycle, from design and coding through test automation to deployment, owning both feature delivery and the reliability, scalability and performance of what ships.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce strong engineering, architecture and process standards to produce clean, scalable, reusable code.
  • Help design and build new products and features and improve the current product suite.
  • Build software that customers can easily extend and customize to fit their needs.
  • Apply Java, object-oriented design, design patterns, algorithms and data structures to your work.
  • Build and maintain Client Scripts, UI Policies, Business Rules and Script Includes using client and server APIs for AI Search's admin tools.
  • Build and maintain search UI components with the company's UI JavaScript, HTML and CSS framework, following accessibility and UX best practices.
  • Design database schemas, transform and load data, and maintain analytics dashboards.
  • Change the GraphQL, Java and scriptable APIs that AI Search exposes to add features and fix defects.
  • Support customers who report search UI and UX issues.
  • Build and maintain an interactive, intuitive admin UI for new search and machine learning capabilities, designed to be extensible and easy to maintain.
  • Bring new technology into the platform to improve its functionality.
  • Own your code from design through delivery, including thorough test automation.
  • Create, run and maintain scripts and tools across testing frameworks, including Java, Jenkins, JUnit, Playwright and Selenium.
  • Write and maintain manual test plans, suites and end-to-end test cases, and publish the results.
  • Help improve QA processes so test cases are documented and results are shared.
  • Set up test instances with multiple upgrade paths for broader testing.
  • Work with Product Owners to clarify detailed requirements and define acceptance criteria.
  • Take part in all Agile Scrum ceremonies, including grooming, to pin down key requirements and plan integrated testing.
  • Join cross-team technical discussions and decisions.
  • Work with other teams so cross-product dependencies are covered in test cases, and help them succeed.

Requirements

  • Show that you think critically about how AI can fit into work, decisions or problem-solving. This could include using AI tools, automating workflows, reading AI-driven insights, or assessing AI's impact on your function or industry.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with a record of shipping high-quality products.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java or a similar object-oriented language.
  • Experience with a modern front-end framework such as Angular, React or Vue.
  • Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with automated test frameworks such as JUnit, Selenium or TestNG, and with running tests in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of software quality, including reliability, observability and production readiness.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and improve performance across the stack.
  • Experience with AI-powered tools or workflows, including validating datasets, model predictions and inference consistency.
  • Comfort with IDEs, debuggers, profilers, source control and Unix-based systems.
