The team builds Link, which helps the company's merchants offer fast, secure checkout by auto-filling customers' payment details, so shoppers can pay in seconds with one click across the Link merchant network.
The company is a financial infrastructure platform used by millions of businesses, from very large enterprises to early-stage startups, to take payments, grow revenue, and open new business channels. The company's stated goal is to increase the GDP of the internet, and it still has a large amount of work ahead.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of new money-movement capabilities in Link, turning open-ended product ideas into reliable, scalable, and easy-to-use experiences for consumers and merchants.
Own large cross-functional projects from early product and technical definition through launch and iteration.
Set the technical strategy and architecture for ambiguous Link initiatives that introduce new money-movement primitives.
Own projects end to end: define the problem, write an incremental technical plan, get stakeholders aligned, drive delivery, launch safely, and use results to decide where to invest next.
Build backend services and consumer-facing experiences in Java, Ruby, and TypeScript.
Lead a team of engineers through execution, keeping priorities, decisions, risks, and milestones clear.
Work with Product, Design, Data Science, Risk, Infrastructure, and other the company teams to build safe, reliable, useful capabilities.
Manage dependencies across the company's payments and money-movement platforms, weighing speed, user experience, operational reliability, and long-term technical foundations.
Raise the engineering bar through technical leadership, design reviews, mentoring, and direct feedback.
Help shape the team's longer-term roadmap by identifying opportunities, technical risks, and the investment needed to scale Link's financial capabilities globally.
Work across the stack on services, APIs, and the user experiences that expose them. The work may involve modern financial infrastructure, including stablecoin-enabled capabilities, and requires sound judgment on safety, reliability, compliance, and user trust.
Make the architectural decisions that allow the balance model to scale globally.
