This is a staff-level role, and you will shape how the agents reason, act, and deliver results at scale.
Responsibilities
- Set architecture and engineering standards, and take solutions from design through to delivery.
- Lead builds across Node.js services, AI and agent workflows, and integrations with enterprise systems.
- Own the quality and reliability of what you ship.
Requirements
- Have built distributed systems or backend platforms that run in production.
- Work fluently with Infrastructure as Code in Terraform or CDK, and build observability around metrics, tracing, logs, and SLOs.
- Know Postgres well, and have used vector databases such as pgvector, Pinecone, or Milvus for retrieval and semantic search.
- Have built agentic workflows and retrieval augmented generation.
- Use AI tools hands-on, and have concrete ideas for applying AI to development, testing, data, and support.
- Take ownership, communicate clearly, and make decisions with about 80 percent of the information available.
- Ship quickly without breaking things, pick up new stacks readily, and approach problems with a figure-it-out attitude.
Conditions
The role is in person in the San Francisco Bay Area.
