This is a Staff Software Engineer (Product) role. You will help shape the technical direction of the product as a senior individual contributor, building high-quality product systems, making sound technical calls, and helping other engineers grow through teamwork and example. The role carries no people management duties.

You will work daily with engineers, Product and Design to deliver real customer value while keeping long-term maintainability and quality in view.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build complex features and systems that customers use directly
  • Own technical decisions within a product area or initiative
  • Shape practical, scalable solutions with Product and Design
  • Join architecture discussions and help set technical direction across teams
  • Keep code quality high through reviews and shared standards
  • Mentor and support other engineers by sharing knowledge and working together
  • Take part in production support and help resolve incidents when needed

Requirements

  • You are an experienced engineer who works well autonomously, handles ambiguity, and drives outcomes through clear thinking and collaboration.
  • Strong track record building and maintaining production software
  • Experience designing and shipping complex systems or features from start to finish
  • Solid grounding in modern web application development
  • Experience with TypeScript and React, or comparable modern frontend tools
  • Backend experience with Node.js and/or.NET (C#)
  • Experience in a cloud environment; Azure is preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with API design, data modelling and system boundaries
  • Clear communicator with a thoughtful, collaborative approach
  • Deep expertise in every area is not expected. Strength in some areas and working knowledge in others is fine.
  • The stack includes React, TypeScript and modern UI patterns on the frontend; Node.js and/or.NET services on the backend; relational databases such as Postgres or Azure SQL; and Microsoft Azure with standard cloud tooling. You can focus where your strengths are.
  • Infrastructure as code, performance optimisation or AI-enabled features are a plus but not required.
  • Experience in B2B SaaS or complex product environments is valued.
  • Exposure to regulated, security-conscious or enterprise systems is valued.
  • Experience contributing to cross-team technical initiatives is valued.
  • Interest in mentoring and supporting other engineers is valued.
  • Good judgment, pragmatic engineering and collaboration matter more than ticking every box. Apply if the role broadly fits your experience, even if you do not meet every requirement.
  • The description may not cover every duty or skill tied to the role; it outlines the main aspects, and other tasks may be asked of you.
