Staff Software Engineer, AI Infrastructure

Description

The company is a global provider of digital infrastructure.

This is a newly created position on the team.

You will work with product teams, analysts and other engineers to design systems and application software, and you will coach less experienced team members.

Responsibilities

• Read and review requirements, and work with business analysts to clarify business needs.
• Take part in architecture reviews.
• Lead the design of individual features and several modules, and provide technical guidance to the team.
• Assess open source tools and recommend which ones to adopt.
• Write scripts and code for features and multiple modules, join peer reviews, and help set standard coding practices.
• Integrate techniques across different technologies.
• Write unit tests, fix defects, build test strategies, and recommend testing frameworks.
• Set deployment and release guidelines, and plan environments and cross-functional dependencies.
• Document configuration management practices and teach stakeholders in other functions the processes and tools.
• Build and maintain an inventory of production applications, flows and systems across all software engineering areas.
• Help prepare application support documentation and resolve basic issues using knowledge base articles.
• Estimate level of effort, set schedules with technical project managers and product managers, and report on status and release progress.
• Research, analyze and evaluate new technologies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering.

Conditions

Base pay ranges by location: Redwood City $146,000 to $218,000 USD per year; New York City $134,000 to $200,000 USD per year; Denver, Frisco, Dallas and Tampa $121,000 to $181,000 USD per year; Toronto 102,000 to 152,000 CAD per year.

Ranges cover base pay only and do not include bonus, equity or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonuses, and equity may be offered depending on the position.

Final pay depends on skills, experience, education and training, and the ranges may be updated over time.
