Description

The company makes memory and storage products. The Firmware and Product Test team validates the firmware for its enterprise SSD line and builds scalable validation tools, automation, and newer technologies to raise product quality and reliability.

As Staff Engineer, you set validation direction for enterprise SSD firmware and help define the future of test infrastructure and methods.

The role centers on verifying key NVMe features, pushing AI-supported validation, and guiding technical decisions across product lines.

The role has high visibility and offers chances to affect quality, coach engineers, and speed up engineering through automation and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Own validation planning and execution for NVMe front-end features on enterprise SSD products.
  • Design and extend scalable test frameworks that widen automation and coverage and strengthen firmware quality.
  • Lead root-cause investigations of hard failures and set out debug approaches and standard working processes.
  • Build and grow validation infrastructure, including automation, CI/CD integration, regression systems, and reporting tools.
  • Coach engineers and work with cross-functional groups to make products easier to test, shape design choices, and flag technical risk.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualifications: a bachelor's degree with 8+ years, a master's degree with 6+ years, or a PhD with 4+ years of experience in computer science, data science, electrical or computer engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum qualifications: expert Python skills, including building automated test frameworks with NumPy, pandas, and Scikit-learn.
  • Minimum qualifications: deep knowledge of validation methods, test architecture, automation strategy, and verifying firmware or embedded systems.
  • Minimum qualifications: hands-on use of AI/ML and generative AI tools for engineering, automation, or failure analysis.
  • Minimum qualifications: proven technical leadership, clear communication, mentoring experience, and experience leading cross-functional work.
  • Preferred qualifications: experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch and deploying AI/ML solutions in engineering settings.
  • Preferred qualifications: solid understanding of SSD storage technology, including NVMe, PCIe, OCP, NAND, and firmware architecture.
  • Preferred qualifications: experience putting AI-enabled workflows into CI/CD pipelines for regression, diagnostics, or test optimization.
  • Preferred qualifications: skill in C or Rust for firmware debugging, plus experience with Linux, Windows, Git, and CI/CD environments.
  • Preferred qualifications: a track record of innovation through patents, publications, open-source contributions, or leading major engineering initiatives.
