This Staff DevOps Engineer role sets the technical direction, architecture and reliability of a secure, scalable, high-performance platform. You lead by example, take on hard engineering problems that span teams, mentor engineers and influence technical strategy. The role suits someone who enjoys building and scaling reliable cloud-native systems.

Responsibilities

• Set the architecture direction for the platform, designing and integrating solutions built on serverless and containerization technologies.
• Design systems for durability, availability, disaster recovery and performance.
• Define, track and enforce SLIs, SLOs and SLAs, with proactive alerts and real-time dashboards that show system health.
• Shape CI/CD workflows with the developer experience team, automating the full software development lifecycle to make engineers faster.
• Mentor senior and junior engineers, and promote practices such as test-driven development and automated testing.
• Work with engineering, product, customer success and other teams on complex technical problems with company-wide impact.

Requirements

• 8+ years in a DevOps, SRE or infrastructure engineering role, with a record of leading large, high-impact projects.
• Deep knowledge of cloud-native tools, especially container orchestration with Kubernetes or ECS and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Coralogix, AWS CloudWatch and OpenTelemetry (OTEL).
• A proven record with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub, and of building advanced automation pipelines.
• A solid grasp of advanced AWS networking, security and infrastructure.
• Scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash or Go.
• Clear communication of complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical people.
• Self-driven, able to work independently and take initiative on ambiguous, high-level problems.
• An analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and a record of leading root-cause analysis and problem solving.
• A natural leader who enjoys coaching and developing other engineers.

Conditions

This is a hybrid role with 3 days a week in the San Jose office.
