Staff CAD Engineer

Description

The role sits within memory and semiconductor product development at a company that makes memory and storage products.

The work centres on the CAD tools, methods and design flows that engineering teams use to build those products.

Responsibilities

• Develop, improve and support advanced CAD tools, methods and design flows.
• Design and build automation that raises engineering productivity, design quality and workflow reliability.
• Bring commercial EDA tools into internal design environments so they run at scale across projects and teams.
• Train design, layout, verification and process engineering groups, and write documentation and technical support so new tools and methods get adopted.
• Work with other teams to keep design operations running, and to diagnose, track and fix CAD and design infrastructure problems.
• Carry out independent research into emerging technologies, assess industry EDA tools, and find gaps in current flows.
• Define and implement changes that lower cost, improve efficiency and support next-generation products.
• Maintain and tune engineering computing infrastructure for high availability, performance and reliability across all design teams.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is accepted.
• Experience with CMOS circuit design, parasitic extraction and verification.
• Experience evaluating and rolling out advanced EDA software flows.
• Experience building software prototypes for IC design, parasitic extraction and analysis.
• Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their applications.
• Experience developing CAD or designing in digital RTL2GDS flows.
• Python programming skills.
• Experience with EDA software such as Cadence, Synopsys and Siemens.
