Description

The company builds an AI-powered operations platform for the fresh food supply chain. Growers, shippers, distributors and processors use it for food safety, supplier workflows, inspections and compliance, without per-user pricing or the rigid workflows of older systems.

The product is mobile-friendly, quick to deploy and designed to connect with existing systems. The company was founded to bring modern, easy-to-use software to an industry that has been slow to go digital, and it works closely with customers.

In this role you will help lead the design and build of user-facing features and AI capabilities, working with product, design and domain experts. You will build product experiences, agentic workflows and evals that check model performance, help ship features quickly, set engineering standards, and build reliable AI for critical supply chain work.

The platform addresses food safety, compliance and supplier collaboration problems that affect a food company's revenue, risk and day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship full-stack features and scalable Ruby on Rails backend services for the core platform.
  • Design and release user-facing AI features that rely on multi-step agentic workflows and reasoning.
  • Create evaluation frameworks that measure, benchmark and steadily improve model quality, reliability and safety.
  • Work with Product, Design and Engineering to turn user needs into clear features and full-stack application logic.
  • Set standards for backend testing, performance and managing the AI application lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with deep skill in building web applications in Ruby on Rails.
  • Hands-on experience shipping AI features built on LLMs, agentic workflows and orchestration frameworks.
  • Solid experience building AI evals to test, validate and monitor model and agent behavior.
  • A proven record delivering full-stack features, including API design, UI integration, relational databases and asynchronous task processing.
  • Strong communicator who has led complex technical projects from start to finish.
  • Nice to have: prior work in supply chain, logistics, food or agriculture software.
  • You can turn feedback from non-technical users into intuitive product solutions.
  • You work well in fast-moving, early-stage settings, executing hands-on while helping shape product strategy and core processes.
  • You communicate clearly in writing, on video calls and in reviews with business owners.
  • You collaborate well as a team member.
  • You want to build tools that simplify daily work for the people doing the job on the ground.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity in a high-growth company.
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) savings plan.
  • Unlimited PTO.
  • Company-wide off-sites.
