Description

The company makes a cloud security platform, the Zero Trust Exchange, that connects users, devices and applications from any location. It runs across more than 200 public data centers worldwide and thousands of private edge sites, and is described as the largest in-line cloud security platform in the world.

The company is building an AI-native organization and is focused on security problems for customers, guided by three behaviors: ownership and collaboration, trust through outcomes and impact, and a challenge culture with ongoing feedback.

This is a Sr. Staff Site Reliability Engineer (Federal) role on the Government Cloud team, reporting to the Manager, Site Reliability Engineering. The role is hybrid and based in Crystal City, Virginia. You will help build and run the cloud security platform and keep its multitenant architecture strong while operating inside classified environments.

Responsibilities

  • Run day-to-day operations for products in US Government classified environments, including deployments, on-call shifts, incident handling and regular deployment syncs.
  • Oversee all cloud infrastructure, including AWS, private cloud, containers and virtual machines, so it stays stable and can scale.
  • Write scripts, containerized services and monitoring tools that automate operations work and reduce service disruption.
  • Build new services and improve existing ones inside classified environments, and push DevOps practices forward through documentation and escalation management.

Requirements

  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and will work out the path as you go, treating unclear problems as material to build from.
  • You take ownership, act with integrity and move quickly on tasks. You can shift between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
  • You enjoy hard problems and focus on finding solutions, since they tend to have the largest impact.
  • You work well with others and push the team forward, not just yourself. You give and accept ongoing feedback, delivered clearly and respectfully.
  • You are eager to learn, actively ask for feedback to improve, and take your work and your growth seriously.
  • Foundational understanding of AI and ML technologies, with experience using, securing or proposing AI-driven solutions that improve results in your field.
  • You must hold an active US Government Secret security clearance, and keeping it is a condition of continued employment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus 7+ years of Site Reliability Engineering experience across both operations and engineering work.
  • Proficiency in Linux administration, network troubleshooting, and automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Strong Python skills, experience with container architectures including AWS ECS and Kubernetes, and experience with monitoring activities such as vulnerability scanning, patch management and reporting.
  • Preferred qualifications (What Will Make You Stand Out):
  • Experience deploying or managing AI-driven observability and AIOps tools for predictive anomaly detection and automated incident response in cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience working in air-gapped and classified environments, running monthly monitoring programs.
  • Familiarity with High or Moderate FedRAMP authorization levels and compliance requirements, an Information Assurance Technician Level 2 certification, or a Top Secret security clearance.
