Description

Requisition ID: FEQ128R35.

The company runs a data and AI platform for building and scaling data, AI, analytics and agent applications. More than 20,000 organizations worldwide use it, including 70% of the Fortune 500. Headquarters are in San Francisco, with 30+ offices around the globe.

In this customer-facing role you will help customers plan and deliver big data projects, working alongside Solution Architects. The role calls for hands-on production experience with cloud infrastructure and big data technologies. You will report to the Specialist Field Engineering Manager and the Director, Field Engineering (Specialist), and build your skills through mentoring, learning and internal training as a go-to expert in your specialty.

You will help customers design and deliver essential workloads and shape their technical roadmap for wider use of the platform.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic customers through big data projects, from architecture and security design to development, deployment and automation practices.
  • Architect production workloads, including end-to-end pipeline load testing and tuning.
  • Provide technical guidance on cloud infrastructure and security for the platform.
  • Support Solution Architects on advanced sales work, such as custom proof of concept content, workload sizing and custom architectures.
  • Grow community adoption through tutorials, training, hackathons and conference talks.
  • Contribute to the platform community and act as a technical subject matter expert.

Requirements

  • Pre-sales or post-sales experience with external clients across several industries.
  • Experience as a data platform engineer building, setting up and maintaining production big data systems on Spark.
  • Experience designing cloud infrastructure and services on AWS and Azure, applying cloud security and networking best practices, including:
  • Designing, deploying and maintaining cloud networks and connectivity, such as VPC/VNet design, routing, segmentation and private connectivity.
  • Architecting production cloud networks for data and AI workloads, with segmentation, routing, data exfiltration prevention, and performance and reliability in mind.
  • Identity and access management, such as role-based access control, least privilege and IdP integration.
  • Hands-on work with infrastructure automation, such as Terraform or cloud-specific tools like ARM or CloudFormation.
  • Experience helping customers design and implement a security lakehouse or security data platform on the platform, to augment SIEM, support security analytics and threat hunting, and build advanced detections.
  • Ability to design and extend high-performance, scalable, secure and cost-effective cloud big data solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of engineering tools and practices, including CI/CD, unit and integration testing, automation and orchestration.
  • Production programming experience in at least one of Python, Scala, SQL or R.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Nice to have: the company Certification.
