Sr. Solutions Architect - Storage Hardware & Networking

Description

The company has grown from a storage hardware maker into a data platform business. It closed fiscal 2026 with $3.7 billion in revenue, including its first quarter above $1 billion, and expects growth to accelerate in FY27.

Its strategic focus covers hyperscalers, AI labs, the AI hardware supply chain, data platform providers and the wider AI ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Set the product requirements, qualification criteria and multi-year lifecycle roadmap for the compute, chassis and interconnect subsystems in the company's flagship storage platforms.
• Define the roadmap for the networking fabrics in those platforms, including Ethernet, Fibre Channel and NVMe-oF, with the goal of improving fleet reliability and performance.
• Write the technical guardrails and reference architectures that Engineering, Manufacturing and Field teams use to make consistent, cost-effective hardware decisions across all product lines.
• Serve as the technical authority on subsystem behavior by validating configurations, measuring performance and settling architectural trade-offs with Engineering in the lab.
• Work with Field Systems Engineers and Sales leadership on strategic proofs of concept, technical escalations and competitive positioning against enterprise rivals.
• Produce architecture briefs, comparison guides and technical FAQs that help internal go-to-market teams and enterprise customers understand hardware performance and trade-offs.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of storage or server hardware architecture, including compute, chassis and interconnects, and of enterprise networking fabrics.
• Hands-on experience validating hardware configurations, analysing system performance telemetry and troubleshooting architecture problems with engineering teams.
• A track record of working across Engineering, Supply Chain and Sales to balance performance, unit cost and supply limits in workable product plans.
• The ability to turn complex hardware and networking details into clear guidance and enablement material for both technical and commercial audiences.

Conditions

The role is primarily on site at the Santa Clara, CA office, following company policy, except during PTO, work travel or other approved leave.

The annual base salary range is $180,000 to $270,000 USD. Pay ranges depend on role, level and location, and for roles open in several locations the range reflects the labor market across those locations.
