Sr Software Installation Engineer

Description

You will join a global medical technology company with more than 72,000 staff in over 70 countries. The team supports customers worldwide.

The role completes technical service tasks of varying scope and helps plan and manage that work.

Responsibilities

• Physically install racks, servers, robotic autoloaders and tape libraries, tape backup drives, printers, workstations and similar equipment.
• Build local networks, cable racks, and assign IP addresses.
• Install Active Directory, DNS, IIS, MSSQL and databases at customer sites.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot Citrix XenApp.
• Install and upgrade company software on site or remotely from the office, using tools the company has built.
• Install and configure backup software and Juniper firewalls.
• Handle customers directly, run acceptance procedures with them, and collect their signatures on documents.

Requirements

• Solid hands-on skills in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows Server and client operating systems.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS, IIS, and file and print servers.
• Experience with Dell servers, autoloaders, tape drives and backup systems, HP printers, and Juniper firewalls.
• Knowledge of RAID, WSUS and cybersecurity.
• Experience with MSSQL Server and relational databases.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, vCloud and Citrix XenApp.
• Strong customer-facing skills.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to learn quickly, work flexibly, handle several tasks at once, and collaborate well in a team.
• Windows system administration skills.
• IP addressing knowledge.
• Healthcare IT domain knowledge.
• Knowledge of DICOM and HL7.
• Microsoft certifications.
• Network administration skills.
• A bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field such as B.E., B.Tech, B.Sc (Comp), MCA or M.Sc (Comp).
• 3-5 years of experience.

Conditions

Travel of 30-40% is required, with work at customer sites in Romania and neighboring countries under demanding conditions.

You must be able to work under time pressure and at unusual hours, including weekends, across different time zones, since the team delivers projects worldwide.
