Sr. Software Development Engineer (Orlando, FL)

Description

The company is a health technology business, and this senior engineering role centers on hospital patient monitoring products.

You will work on key projects with a team in that area.

Responsibilities

• Help estimate and plan projects, define requirements, and manage risk, and shape architecture so solutions scale and perform well.
• Build, maintain, and improve C and C++ applications across the full software lifecycle, writing reliable, efficient code that is well documented and meets set standards and best practices.
• Find and fix complex software faults through debugging, root-cause analysis, code reviews, static analysis, and developer testing, protecting quality, stability, and performance.
• Lead development teams in assessing security risk, setting security requirements, and taking part in secure design reviews, threat modeling, and security architecture evaluations.
• Find and fix vulnerabilities, review third-party and open-source software, respond to security incidents, and build security controls into development, build, and release processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years developing embedded software in C and C++, with solid skills in multithreading, memory management, performance tuning, and debugging.
• Hands-on experience building and supporting secure products, covering software security, cybersecurity practices, software bills of materials, open-source license compliance, and vulnerability management.
• Comfortable working on Linux or embedded real-time operating systems, with experience in APIs, database integration, networking protocols, and open-source components.
• Familiar with modern tooling and workflows: GitHub, continuous integration and delivery pipelines, and Agile methods.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Able to meet the minimum physical, cognitive, and environmental demands of the role, with or without accommodation.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Experience in healthcare, medical technology, or other regulated industries (a plus).

Conditions

Office role in Orlando, FL, with in-person work at least 3 days per week.

Base pay range in Orlando, FL is $115,000 to $183,000. Actual pay within the range depends on factors such as skills, experience, business needs, location, and internal equity.

Offers at or near the top of the range are not typical, and decisions depend on the facts of each case.

US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company does not consider candidates who need visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
