Description

The team is building a fast-moving initiative to shape the future of TV.

The company is a major media and entertainment business. It makes film, TV and streaming content, runs theme parks and consumer products, and operates news, sports and entertainment networks, including a premium ad-supported streaming service.

The role sits within the product organization and centers on the metadata and image supply chain for the streaming service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the domestic and international metadata and image supply chain needs behind new viewing experience features.
  • Learn how content moves through workflows for VOD, live, linear and short-form formats, and what metadata each one needs.
  • Own supply chain features or functions, regularly reviewing platform needs and identifying what to improve.
  • Find places to add automation and AI that enable advanced capabilities.
  • Work with product managers, designers, operations and engineering to build supply chain capabilities that improve content discovery across several products.
  • Work with editorial and content teams to learn and rank the supply chain needs that help them succeed.
  • Track emerging supply chain, metadata and technology trends that could support compelling new user experiences.
  • Encourage strong platform discipline across the product organization.
  • Turn complex problems into MVPs you can execute, present a plan and vision, and build stakeholder agreement.
  • Run competitive analyses and market research, and combine customer insights and analytics into evidence-based recommendations.
  • Help build the product culture at the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in a relevant field.
  • Substantial experience in product management or a similar role.
  • Experience with metadata systems and hierarchical data structures.
  • Experience in technology or digital media, preferably with consumer-facing products.
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment is preferred.
  • Experience across multiple entertainment platforms (for example iOS, Android, Amazon and Roku) and domains (for example TV, movies, sports, news and kids).
  • Familiarity with industry metadata sources such as Gracenote, TiVo, Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb.
  • A genuine love of television, film and sports entertainment.
  • A drive to build innovative, engaging consumer products.
  • Strong attention to organization and detail.
  • Empathy for users and a practical sense of how to meet their needs and simplify their lives.
  • An eye for where consumption trends are heading and an appreciation for TV and entertainment.
  • The ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Curiosity to find the right solution, and persistence to iterate on it.
  • Flexibility to adapt quickly to shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • A positive, confident, energetic attitude and a willingness to learn.
