The company builds high-performance computing infrastructure for a new ground-based radar system used for Space Domain Awareness, and the work spans design, build, delivery and sustainment. The team is multi-disciplinary and has been part of major aerospace milestones in the nation's history.

You will lead a project through design, build, integration and delivery of high-performance computing infrastructure for the radar program, working with cross-functional IT and engineering teams. You will set technical objectives and make sure solutions arrive on schedule, within budget, and meet performance and security requirements.

You will report directly to the Compute Integrated Product Team lead, who oversees several information systems projects, and you will work alongside peer project managers.

Responsibilities

  • Own the design, build, integration and delivery of HPC solutions for SDA ground-based radar missions.
  • Work with the Compute IPT lead and peer project managers to share personnel and set task priorities.
  • Build and maintain project execution plans, schedules and milestones.
  • Coordinate technical and business resources across system administrators, network engineers, hardware engineers, software developers, cyber security engineers, requirements engineers and MBSE systems engineers.
  • Keep projects on track for cost, schedule, quality and technical performance.
  • Make sound technical decisions and draw on the team's expertise in HPC, Red Hat Linux, networking and cyber security to solve complex problems.
  • Guide and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of about 15 people, providing technical and analytical direction.
  • Set technical objectives and choose solution approaches with considerable latitude.
  • Serve as the main technical and project contact on assigned contracts and projects.
  • Prepare and deliver clear briefings, status updates and recommendations for internal leadership and external customers.
  • Track advances in IT, HPC and cyber security and propose improvements to architectures and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 8 years of professional experience, or a Master's degree with 6 years, or a PhD with 4 years.
  • Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at the time of application, current and within scope.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Experience leading or managing IT projects involving high-performance computing environments and GPGPU and multi-node processing architectures.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and delivery.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to communicate and present technical approaches, trade studies and findings clearly.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time, domestically or internationally.
  • Preferred: experience with HPE high-performance computing platforms, such as HPE HCP.
  • Preferred: background in Red Hat Linux administration and integration, networking design and configuration, and cyber security and secure infrastructure design.
  • Preferred: experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams on complex DoD or radar and SDA programs.
  • Preferred: familiarity with MBSE and requirements management tools and processes.

Conditions

Base salary range is $129,300.00 to $193,900.00, as a general guideline. Final offers depend on scope and responsibilities, plus experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, you may be eligible for overtime, shift differential and a discretionary bonus on top of base pay.

The application period is estimated at 20 days from the posting date, and may be shortened or extended based on business needs and candidate availability.

Equal opportunity applies.
