Sr Principal Engineer

Description

The company builds systems for aeronautics and unmanned programs, and this role sits in its Aeronautics Systems business.

The role focuses on product support configuration management. You will build and keep up a process that makes sure the configuration of fielded assets is accurately recorded in logistic product data, such as product support analyses, Work Unit Codes (WUC), MRLD Logistic Control Numbers (LCN), technical manuals and maintenance plans.

The position is based in San Diego, CA. No relocation assistance is offered. A Secret clearance is required, and it is not needed to start.

Responsibilities

• Work as a Logistics Support Analysis engineer across several programs in the Unmanned Systems portfolio, based in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
• Find candidates for LSA and keep the LSA database current.
• Know TA-STD-0017 (Product Support Analysis) well enough to work across product support disciplines and shape product design for supportability.
• Build technical solutions to logistics problems and maintain an integrated logistics database for cross-functional teams using LSA database software such as EAGLE.
• Help coordinate subcontractor and customer meetings and produce IPT deliverables, including maintenance plans, task analyses and SERDs that meet contract requirements and capture users' logistics needs.
• Coordinate with and support Product Support IPT activities.
• Work confidently with integrated databases, spreadsheets and engineering data capture.
• Build presentations and brief Integrated Product Teams and customers.
• Write and defend white papers that describe problem areas and recommend solutions, communicating clearly in writing and verbally.

Requirements

• Hold a bachelor's degree in science with 8 years of experience, a master's with 6 years, or a PhD with 4 years.
• Understand the Logistics Support Analysis discipline and its responsibilities.
• Have experience in LSA, reliability, maintainability or another logistics-related discipline.
• Have experience producing several types of logistics supportability analyses.
• Have experience developing and delivering Level of Repair Analysis (LORA).
• Be familiar with military maintenance and sustainment support.
• Have experience leading and tracking assigned tasks.
• Communicate well verbally and in writing, present effectively, and work directly with internal program offices and external customers.

Conditions

Position is in San Diego, CA. Travel is required for 10% of the time.

A Secret clearance is required, but not needed to start.

No relocation assistance is available.

• Primary level base salary range is $129,300.00 to $193,900.00. Final pay depends on scope of role, experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
• Eligibility may include overtime, shift differential and a discretionary annual bonus, which rewards individual contributions and shares company results. Vice President and Director roles may also qualify for long-term incentives.
