Description

A project management office at a financial services client is hiring a senior assistant project manager to support it.

The role suits someone who enjoys analysis, research, data work and improving how processes run.

You will work on your own, juggle several priorities and handle unclear situations, owning assignments from start to finish.

You will look for ways to improve, adjust based on feedback and use constructive input in later work.

You will connect strategy with execution by looking into problems, weighing options and recommending practical, lasting fixes that support delivery, governance and business goals.

Strong problem solving, attention to detail and curiosity are needed, along with the ability to shape process changes using evidence.

Responsibilities

  • Build, roll out and keep improving scalable project management processes, tools and documents that make operations more efficient.
  • Investigate complex business and project problems and create solutions that weigh business needs, risk and delivery demands.
  • Take initiatives from idea to completion: find gaps, identify root causes, coordinate stakeholders and drive action plans to finish.
  • Review project, operational and financial data for trends, risks and opportunities, and give leadership clear recommendations.
  • Build expertise in the client's project management standards, governance rules, systems and reporting methods.
  • Work with internal teams, vendors, stakeholders and clients to deliver well and stay aligned with strategy.
  • Maintain and improve PMO processes, guidebooks, dashboards and reporting tools, and look for ways to optimise and automate them.
  • Prepare clear, concise reports, presentations and training materials for project managers and business leaders.
  • Help with PMO operations, special projects and strategic initiatives when needed.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, data analytics, project management or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, analytics, operations, project controls, project management, construction management or a related area.
  • You can analyse data, do research, find root causes and build practical solutions to business problems.
  • You can turn complex information into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Word, with the ability to produce executive-level presentations and reports.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools, process automation, reporting platforms or basic coding is preferred.
  • Experience supporting architecture, construction, real estate, facilities management or project management organisations is a plus.

Conditions

The compensation range is $70,304.00 to $80,000.00.

Final pay depends on whether a collective bargaining agreement applies, the work location, local market rates, and the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Pay will never fall below the applicable minimum wage for this role.

The company is an equal opportunity employer covering all protected groups, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.

Candidates who need an accommodation to apply can call the ADA line at 1-888-365-5406 or email, quoting the job title and location.

Benefits

  • Eligible employees can enrol in benefit programmes that generally include health, vision and dental insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid and unpaid time away from work.
  • Pay may vary by eligibility factors such as location, hire date, hours worked, job type, business line and collective bargaining coverage.
