This role supports validation test solutions for server hardware manufacturing facilities and helps keep hardware quality and reliability high in large-scale production.

You will help build the architecture, development and production rollout of software used across several customers and manufacturing regions.

The role works with internal engineering, manufacturing and quality teams, as well as end customers, so software meets the company's demanding manufacturing standards.

  • Create, validate, release and maintain test software and scripts that automate testing, including code that controls test equipment, collects and analyzes data and generates reports.
  • Sustain the server (L10) and rack (L11-L12) test software and infrastructure at production sites, including minor configuration changes for new product variants or revisions.
  • Keep server (L10) and rack (L11-L12) documentation current, covering test procedures, specifications and infrastructure.
  • Work with hardware engineers, manufacturing engineers and quality assurance staff to align on test requirements and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Have hands-on experience with server hardware interaction, validation and configuration.
  • Communicate clearly in speech and writing.

  • Know at least one scripting or programming language: Python, BASH, or C/C++ (C and C++ are a plus).
  • Understand Linux fundamentals, ideally on CentOS or Ubuntu.
  • Control, manage and stress L10 devices (servers, network and storage SSDs, NVMe) using tools and APIs such as IPMI, Redfish, mprime, FIO, Linpack, ptugen, memtester and iperf.
  • Create and configure virtual machines in VMware, including DHCP, PXE boot and nginx.
  • Understand enterprise networking, including L1, L2 and L3 switching and routing with BGP, DHCP Relay and ECMP. Arista CloudVision is a plus.
  • Use version control, with Git preferred.
  • Apply professional software engineering practices across the lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing and operations.
  • Have worked in multi-site and multi-cultural settings.
  • Be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
  • A bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering, computer science or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Optional: a master's degree in EE, CE or computer science.
  • Optional: 5+ years in the electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Optional: experience designing test architecture and methodology.
  • Optional: experience with hyperscale customers and environments.
  • Optional: experience with 5+ of the core skills listed above.
