Software Quality Engineer, Hyperscale Line of Business

Its strategic focus covers hyperscalers, AI labs, the AI hardware supply chain, data platform providers, and the wider AI ecosystem.

The team is small and fast-moving, and you would help shape new product ideas for storage environments at massive scale.

Responsibilities

• Design and build automated tests across the full product lifecycle, from development through support.
• Create, develop, and maintain automated test suites and test strategies for several products.
• Work with peers and stakeholders to define requirements and build test coverage from first design to a complete suite.
• Partner with Support and Escalation teams to reproduce customer issues and find their root causes.
• Analyze, document in detail, and report defects found by automated tests.
• Spot gaps in testing, run root cause analysis, and help close the loop on defects that customers find.
• Work across kernel and OS layers, covering end-to-end system behavior, I/O paths, and performance.
• Diagnose complex server and storage problems that span hardware and software.
• Help design tests and contribute to building high-performance systems.

Requirements

• Have 5+ years of experience in software system testing or a comparable role.
• Be strong in system-level testing, with a focus on end-to-end automation and product validation.
• Have hands-on automation experience in Python, Go, Java, Kotlin, or similar languages.
• Understand quality engineering well enough to find coverage gaps, raise defects, and validate systems end to end.
• Be able to build stability, resiliency, and liveness testing that works at scale.
• Understand how SSD and NVMe devices work, and how block, object, or file storage systems operate.
• Analyze test results, debug failures, and push issues to resolution alongside development, QE, product management, and customer support.
• Set up lab environments, including testbed configuration, resource orchestration, and integration of third-party workloads and tools.
• Juggle several projects at once in a fast-paced setting.
• Bring strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, a curious mind, and clear written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.

Conditions

This is an onsite role at the Santa Clara, CA office, in line with company policy, since the company works primarily in the office.

The annual base salary is $149,000 - $224,000 USD.

Pay depends on role, level, and location. For roles open in several locations, the range reflects the labor market across those locations.

The role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
