Software Engineering Residency Program

Description

The residency runs 11.5 weeks, from January 11 to March 31, 2027. It is a paid, cohort-based program meant to turn early-career developers into full-time Associate Software Engineers.

The company builds secure data platforms for space missions, national defense, healthcare systems, and commercial innovation. It was founded in 2018 and focuses on modern architecture, operational excellence, and mission impact.

You will work on real backlog items for systems that U.S. Space Force customers use daily, with a dedicated engineer-mentor. The program ends with a capstone presentation to engineering leadership.

Responsibilities

• You will not be limited to one stack. Across projects you will use Java, Python, Angular, Groovy, REST Services, GIT, PostgreSQL, Mongo, Athena, NiFi, and Quarkus, along with Google Cloud, MS Azure, and AWS.
• You will work alongside experienced engineers to learn data storage, front-end and back-end development, and cloud infrastructure.
• The program has three checkpoints: an onboarding week on tooling and secure development practices, a midpoint demo, and a capstone presentation.

Requirements

• You are a final-year associate, undergraduate, or master's student graduating by January 2027, or a recent graduate in Computer Science, Mathematics, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• You have software development experience from coursework, personal projects, bootcamp work, or prior internships.
• You have experience with software development and scripting languages.
• You know front-end and back-end technologies, data storage solutions, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or MS Azure.
• You can work effectively in a team-based environment.
• You communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, and solve problems proactively.
• You are keen on big data technologies and want to work with cloud infrastructure.
• You are able to obtain a security clearance.
• You can work full-time on-site for the entire program, from January 11 to March 31, 2027.

Conditions

The role is a temporary, non-exempt, hourly position paying $40 USD.

You work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, including a 30-minute lunch.

This role may require an active TS/SCI clearance. Current holders are strongly encouraged to apply. Without one, the company will sponsor eligible candidates through the clearance process based on program needs.

Relocation assistance is offered for full-time roles only.

The position is not eligible for 401(k), medical, dental, or vision insurance, but residents are eligible for sick pay under the Colorado Healthy Families & Workplaces Act.
