Software Engineering Development Program - Hybrid from Waltham, MA

The Software Engineering Development Program (SEDP) is a one-year rotation for emerging engineers who want a versatile skill set. You will work with mentors who are invested in your development and solve real problems for small businesses.

At the end of the rotation you move into a permanent engineering role with a broad technical foundation.

The role is hybrid, based out of the Waltham, MA office, with a target start in July 2027.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through four teams to gain broad experience in areas such as frontend, backend and DevOps, across a range of projects.
• Spend a full quarter with your SEDP cohort on a capstone project: design, build, test, implement and launch a customer-facing feature into production.
• Take part in technical and soft-skills training tailored to you throughout the year.
• Work in a CI/CD environment with technologies such as Java, ReactJS, AWS, Kubernetes and Ruby.
• Write production code from the start, supported by experienced software engineers on each team.
• Build web applications at scale that hundreds of thousands of customers use.
• Receive guidance from several mentors and managers across the program.

Requirements

• Hold a bachelor's degree in computer science or a similar field by May or June 2027, or have equivalent relevant industry experience.
• Be new to software engineering.
• Want to learn and work with web technologies at scale.
• Have curiosity about a wide range of technologies and a willingness to adopt emerging ones.
• Want a learning experience that builds a solid foundation and speeds up your career.
• Care about the company's goal of helping hundreds of thousands of small businesses connect with their customers.

Conditions

The salary range is $90,000 to $105,000 USD.

Pay offered may vary with experience, education and work location. Some roles may also be eligible for on-target commission or bonus pay.

The hybrid model mixes remote work with in-person time at the office for collaboration, live training and team events.
