Software Engineer – Cloud Services – Rust

Description

The company builds high-performance, low-power generative AI inference systems, combining custom silicon, hardware and software for hyperscaler and neocloud data center customers.

It is a funded startup with offices in Sunnyvale, CA, and Munich, Germany, and several team members work remotely across North America and Europe.

You will join the team building the inference backend software, focusing on one part of the software stack for a future product.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop distributed cloud services in Rust.
• Maintain Rust software built in-house and work with external frameworks.
• Build APIs for generative AI.
• Work with other teams to define design specifications and decisions.
• Coordinate agent teams that implement features.

Requirements

• Experience with modern Rust is preferred.
• Experience with agentic tools and workflows is preferred.
• Knowledge of common Rust design patterns, including asynchronous code patterns, is preferred.
• General awareness of network technologies and higher-level protocols such as HTTP is preferred.
• General awareness of Kubernetes and related technologies is a plus.
