Software Engineer / Principal Software Engineer

Description

The company's defense systems group in Bellevue, NE is hiring a Software Engineer or a Principal Software Engineer.

You will work on the full software development lifecycle, with the main focus on engineering, alongside other software developers.

The company builds defense systems.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and as part of an Agile team.
• Help the team deliver required software on schedule.
• Find creative, practical answers to hard technical problems.
• Work with software designers and engineers on planning, designing, building and using software systems.
• Show progress to customers on a regular basis.

Requirements

• Software Engineer: a high school diploma with at least 6 years of software development experience, or a bachelor's degree in a STEM field with at least 2 years, or a master's degree in a STEM field with 0 years of software development experience.
• Principal Software Engineer: a high school diploma with at least 9 years of software development experience, or a bachelor's degree in science in a STEM field with at least 5 years, or a master's degree in science in a STEM field with 3 years.
• An active DoD Secret security clearance.
• Experience as a full stack software developer.
• Demonstrated Java experience.
• Proven experience with Linux OS.
• Working familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle and PDBs, and with SQL.
• Working knowledge of Agile development processes.
• Familiarity with software testing, including integration and unit testing.
• Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with small technical teams.
• Ability to set priorities and adjust tasks to deliver project results.
• Ability to get and keep access to the site.
• Preferred: experience in an Agile software development environment.
• Preferred: experience with enterprise databases.
• Preferred: DevOps or DevSecOps experience.
• Preferred: CI and CD experience.
• Preferred: setting up Jenkins builds.
• Preferred: software security tools.
• Preferred: SonarQube.
• Preferred: using IDEs and configuration management with BitBucket.

Conditions

Work is on site, full time, in Bellevue, NE, with no travel required.

Relocation assistance may be available.

A Secret clearance is required to start.

Primary level salary range: $79,300.00 to $118,900.00.

Secondary level salary range: $98,400.00 to $147,600.00.

The ranges are a general guide; final base pay depends on the scope of the role, your experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
