Software Engineer

Description

The company is a global healthcare business whose digital and data teams help it develop and deliver medicines faster, support healthcare professionals in improving treatments, and help patients manage their health.

The R&D accelerator team builds software at the point where science and technology meet, working directly with product teams and scientists on the full research pipeline, from early discovery through clinical trials.

The job is in English because the role involves frequent work with the company's international affiliates.

Responsibilities

• Build reliable software that speeds up research workflows and strengthens data analysis.
• Make the main technical decisions on key projects and keep architectures scalable and easy to maintain.
• Coach junior engineers and help build a strong engineering culture.
• Define technical standards and encourage the team to adopt good practices.
• Work with other teams to streamline processes and remove bottlenecks.
• Promote sound engineering practice across the team.
• Take responsibility for project outcomes, including deadlines and quality.
• Own technical choices, and lead the work to get past obstacles.
• Answer for the performance and efficiency of the engineering solutions you deliver.
• Contribute hands-on to the design, development and testing of critical components.
• Help grow the team through interviewing and talent development.
• Help set best practice within the manufacturing facility.

Requirements

• Experience with at least one major cloud provider such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, using tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and Node.js.
• Proficiency in React or a similar framework.
• Experience building and maintaining microservices, designing APIs, and applying cloud security practices.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps principles.
• 5+ years of experience or equivalent knowledge. Apply even if you are unsure you meet the years requirement.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent experience is a plus.
• Experience working with several teams to create alignment and deliver results.

Conditions

Based in Paris, France, on a hybrid model with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

The salary range is €54,400.00 - €72,533.

Final pay depends on demonstrated experience, skills, location and other relevant factors.
