Description

The company built an API that lets people link their consumer financial accounts to the apps they use, combining real-time liability data with instant payment execution.

Over 45 million users have connected more than 350 million liability accounts without sharing credentials, and the platform has processed over $2.5B in payments, helping users save millions in interest.

About one in three US credit cards sits within the company's ecosystem. Financial institutions including SoFi, Bilt, Cleo, Sezzle, Figure and Aven use its APIs in their products.

The team has 50+ people across offices in Austin, SF, New York City and Washington D.C.

As an engineer, you will take projects from start to finish and weigh their technical and business consequences. You will work independently and get help from the team when needed. The role leans toward backend work within a full-stack scope.

Responsibilities

  • Write JavaScript across the platform, building user interfaces in React and running a dependable Node backend behind them.
  • Find and fix problems using the monitoring and logging tools, and turn what you find into clear follow-up tasks.
  • Keep the technical bar high through code reviews and by taking part in interviews for new engineers.
  • Work with the team to plan the roadmap, based on a close understanding of customer needs.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of full-time software engineering experience, ideally full-stack.
  • Experience building scalable applications that run in production. A strong record of past projects is required.
  • Experience with a mix of Node or JavaScript, React or a similar framework, and MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
  • You explain the ideas behind your solutions clearly and break large problems into small, manageable tasks.
  • You know when to move quickly and when to slow down for correctness. Accepting some technical debt is fine, since it can be refactored later.
  • You keep up with new technologies and emerging trends in financial technology.
  • Extra awesome (optional): experience in finance or FinTech.
  • Extra awesome (optional): experience building data pipelines.
  • Extra awesome (optional): knowledge of payment rails such as ACH and RTP.
  • Extra awesome (optional): DevOps experience with AWS, Cloudflare and CI/CD tools.
