Description

The company builds finance infrastructure that sits inside the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. It automates over $275B in annualized spend for 85,000+ companies, covering payment authorization, risk flagging, spend categorization, and closing books.

The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.

The team looks for people with high agency and urgency, values what you have built over where you studied, and expects every engineer to own problems end to end and make decisions that shape the result.

The median customer saves 7.5% and grows revenue 16% in its first year, well above businesses without the product.

This role is a Forward Deployed Engineer position in the Core FDE group, an agent-first, fast-moving, customer-facing engineering team. You will work directly with customers, from pain points through to delivered solutions, and help shape product decisions while building agents that expand the product's capabilities on their own.

The company's engineering blog has a post about FDE with more background.

Responsibilities

  • Ship software end to end for the company's largest customers, starting from their pain points, writing product specs, and building agents that implement the fixes automatically.
  • Work closely with Sales, Solutions, Customer Success, and Account Management to close deals, activate customers, and grow the value they get over time.
  • Help drive the core product engineering roadmap by taking ownership of one core product area, building deep domain knowledge, and deciding when to build a custom solution versus speed up a broader initiative.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience building with and for agents.
  • A record of shipping high-quality products at scale.
  • Comfort and enthusiasm for working with customers directly.
  • A drive to grow continuously, thrive in a fast-paced setting, and get good at your craft.
  • 3+ years of software engineering experience is preferred.

Conditions

The company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records, in line with the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.

Benefits

  • United States: flexible PTO, centralized home-office equipment ordering, a health and wellness stipend, a budget for intra-office travel, and a weekly coffee stipend.
  • United States: 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for you, partial coverage for dependents, a One Medical annual membership, a 401(k) with employer match on contributions made while employed, a fertility HRA of up to $10,000 per year, pet insurance, in-office lunch, snacks, and drinks, and relocation expense coverage to NYC or SF if needed.
  • United States: parental leave of up to 16 weeks (birthing and bonding) or 8 weeks (bonding only) at 100% pay.
  • Canada: group medical, dental, and vision coverage through Sun Life, life, AD&D, and disability coverage, fertility drug coverage up to $4,000 lifetime, a group retirement plan with employer match (RRSP and DPSP), and an employee assistance program with virtual care through Lumino Health.
  • Canada: parental leave of up to 16 weeks (birthing and bonding) or 8 weeks (bonding only) at 100% pay, with additional time at reduced pay.
  • United Kingdom: private medical insurance through Freedom Elite, a virtual GP and at-home care via eMed x Livi, and a workplace pension through Penfold with a salary sacrifice option.
  • United Kingdom: parental leave of up to 16 weeks (birthing and bonding) or 8 weeks (bonding only) at 100% pay, with additional time at reduced pay.
