Software Engineer Intern (C#)

Description

The company is a multi-billion dollar alternative investment firm with over 22 years of running relative value strategies in fixed income for institutional investors.

Its offices are in Wayzata, New York City, West Palm Beach, Geneva, Zug, Copenhagen, Singapore and Scottsdale.

This is a summer 2027 internship in the Wayzata office on the R&T team, which builds and supports the systems behind the fixed income business.

You would ship code into the production trading, risk and operations systems that traders and analysts at a global hedge fund use daily.

Recent projects include trade booking, FIX connectivity, market data loaders and trade blotters; real-time and historical position and P&L services with risk reporting; web front ends such as live data grids and charts in React and TypeScript; gRPC services on modern.NET backed by SQL databases; and internal business applications built with AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Help build new features and fix bugs in trading and operations applications, mainly in C,.NET and SQL.
• Work with senior staff to design, build and test complete solutions for the people who use them.
• Write automated tests and take part in code reviews.
• As projects require, contribute to TypeScript/React web UI work and to Python scripts for automation or analysis.
• Support in-house and third-party applications, including investigating production issues.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in computer science, engineering, mathematics or quantitative finance.
• Working knowledge of one statically typed, object-oriented language: C, Java or C++.
• Solid grounding in computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms and operating systems.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with the Python ecosystem.
• Strong problem-solving skills and high standards for code, including testing.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-energy, time-sensitive team.
• Detail-oriented, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Nice to have: C or.NET experience is a plus.
• Nice to have: experience with TypeScript/React or gRPC is a plus.
• Nice to have: interest in or prior experience with the financial trading industry, particularly fixed income, is a plus.

Conditions

Summer 2027 internship based in the Wayzata office.

Expected hourly pay is $45 USD, with a stated range of $45 to $45 USD.

Pay within that range depends on work location and other factors, such as job-related skills, experience and relevant education.
