Description

The company builds autonomous defence platforms and AI-driven software for NATO Allies and partners, designed to work in highly contested environments.

The Electronic Warfare team designs software-defined, mass-scalable RF solutions for autonomous systems. The team combines hardware board design, thermal and structural packaging, real-time C++ signal processing and resilient directional mesh networking to build EW capabilities that operate in contested spectrum.

The role keeps the fleet able to maintain command, control and situational awareness against near-peer threats. Several Software Engineering positions are open.

Electronic Warfare sits at the centre of the team's work. The company values a background in EW and high-performance C++ above meeting every sub-specialty requirement, and prioritises deep expertise and the drive to solve hard problems.

Responsibilities

  • Design high-performance C++ for real-time signal processing, waveform manipulation and mission-critical EW functions.
  • Build anti-jamming methods, frequency hopping (FHSS) and adaptive filtering that defeat active electronic countermeasures.
  • Create algorithms for RF sensing, signal detection and situational awareness that identify and neutralise threats in changing environments.
  • Work with hardware and systems teams to tune RF front-ends so the software matches the physical limits of the hardware.
  • Take ownership of the full stack, from early design and mathematical modelling through bench testing and field trials.

Requirements

  • Strong command of modern C/C++, including memory management, concurrency and performance analysis.
  • Solid background in Electronic Warfare, ideally in one or more of: jamming theory, threat-driven RF effects, or EW tactics.
  • Deep grasp of the electromagnetic spectrum, DSP, Fourier methods, filtering and modulation theory, including QAM, QPSK and OFDM.
  • Experience with low-probability-of-intercept (LPI) links, digital modulation schemes and RF propagation physics.
  • Proficiency in embedded systems and Linux networking, particularly radio-based mesh networks or point-to-point links.
  • Experience with cognitive radio for automated interference avoidance is a plus.
  • Strong systems design and detailed implementation skills.
  • Clear, structured communication for working across technical teams.
  • Strong interest in physics and RF, or a solid working knowledge of RF processing fundamentals.
  • Experience with MIMO antenna systems and beam-forming is a plus.
  • High performance computing and software benchmarking experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cryptographic standards for securing over-the-air transmissions is a plus.
  • Experience designing custom protocols for low-bandwidth, high-latency environments is a plus.
  • Hands-on RF waveform design or amateur radio experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with wireless and cable-borne data formats, such as QAM-64 and QPSK, is a plus.
  • To apply, send your CV in English. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the role; details come during recruitment.

Conditions

Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for this position, given the defence work involved.

Equal-opportunity applies to all candidates.

Benefits

  • The software and systems you build help protect personnel and defend European and national sovereignty.
  • You will work alongside leading engineers on autonomous systems, advanced propulsion and secure cyber platforms.
  • The environment is fast-moving and collaborative, with serious R&D funding behind new ideas.
