Software Engineer (all genders)

Description

The company's payments team builds and runs highly available microservices that handle the payment flow from checkout to refund, which underpins the company's platform.

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will help bring the best infrastructure technologies to the payment teams and their services, so that critical systems can be deployed, run and monitored well and at lower cost of effort.

Responsibilities

• Take proof-of-concept infrastructure changes through to production, and keep raising the quality of the platform.
• Automate operational workflows, write infrastructure as code and build automated test frameworks.
• Own the stability of mission-critical systems by applying SRE practices to diagnose faults and keep production highly available.
• Look for ways to strengthen platform reliability, alerting and monitoring.
• Work alongside other teams to put their infrastructure needs in place so they run smoothly and efficiently in production.
• Share your SRE knowledge with the wider engineering community, mentor colleagues and help raise technical standards.

Requirements

• Solid experience with Linux system administration and designing architecture, including managing highly scalable environments.
• Deep working knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker, and comfort working in cloud-native setups.
• Strong commitment to SRE practices, including building infrastructure as code and automated testing pipelines.
• Ability to write clean, efficient Python or Golang to automate work and solve hard technical problems.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the judgement to make decisions on your own and take full ownership of small and large technical topics.
• Interest in MLOps, or a valued industry certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator).

Conditions

Hybrid working with 60% or more remote work per week; how much teams come into the office is up to each team.

Work from abroad for up to 30 working days a year.

Relocation assistance is available, subject to prior agreement.
