Description

The company is a global quantitative and systematic investment manager trading in all liquid asset classes worldwide, using data, research, technology and trading expertise to invest.

You will join the Data team as a Software Engineer, sitting between engineering, trading and research. The work covers scalable systems for reference data, regulatory and external reporting, and front-office analytics.

You will have clear visibility across the business and work with people in Execution, Engineering and Research. Your projects will support operational efficiency and trading decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Most of your time, about 80%, goes to hands-on development.
  • About 20% goes to supporting and owning systems, keeping production robust, reliable and accurate.
  • You will work with trading, research, risk and operations teams, learning the business while building scalable, high-performance systems.
  • Design and build scalable, high-performance systems for managing trades and positions through their lifecycle.
  • Build solutions that automate lifecycle events such as corporate actions, expiries and cash flows across asset classes.
  • Build and maintain high-quality reference data platforms for trading and research.
  • Deliver real-time and end-of-day reporting pipelines for internal and external users.
  • Keep data accurate, complete and consistent across systems and workflows.
  • Help with system validation, controls and operational robustness, including working with brokers and fund administrators.
  • Turn business needs into dependable technical solutions by working closely with stakeholders.
  • Write well-tested, maintainable code and help improve CI/CD and deployment pipelines.
  • Support production systems and keep improving their reliability, monitoring and performance.

Requirements

  • 5, 10 years of software engineering experience, ideally in a high-performance or data-heavy setting.
  • Strong Python skills. C experience is a bonus.
  • A solid grasp of software design, architecture and scalable systems.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks and CI/CD practices.
  • Financial markets experience is valued but not required. Useful areas include: trade and position lifecycle systems; equities, ETFs, futures or options; corporate actions and reference data; and market structure and exchange-specific behaviour.
  • You do not need deep expertise in one asset class, but you do need a real interest in learning and working in a trading environment.
  • Bonus: experience building systems in a quantitative trading or financial environment.
  • Bonus: strong problem solving with a focus on performance, scalability and data quality.
  • Bonus: comfort working in a high-impact environment with changing requirements.
  • Bonus: clear communication and a collaborative approach.

Conditions

The company is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.

Benefits

  • Work on business-critical systems that directly affect trading results.
  • Join a core engineering team with significant ownership and autonomy.
  • Collaborate with traders, researchers and engineers in a highly technical setting.
  • Solve complex data and systems problems at scale.
  • Access to initiatives and programmes that support a healthy work-life balance.
