Description

The team develops, maintains and troubleshoots a suite of software applications for a government customer, which includes integrating with commercial off-the-shelf and open-source products, packages and libraries.

The role is a Software Engineer Principal position at the company, which supports mission-critical government projects and is based in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.

Type of requisition: regular. Job family: software engineering. Required security clearance held now: Top Secret SCI with Polygraph. Clearance you must be able to obtain: Top Secret SCI with Polygraph. Public Trust or other clearance: none.

Responsibilities

• Develop, sustain and troubleshoot the software suite, covering implementation, testing and integration with COTS and FOSS products, packages and libraries.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree.
• 8+ years of related experience.
• Active Top Secret SCI clearance with polygraph.
• US citizenship is required.
• Experience using the Linux command line and Linux tools.
• Experience writing scripts in Bash and Python.
• Recent software development experience in Java.
• Recent software development experience with the Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, Spring Data and Spring Integration.
• Experience with SQL databases, including PostgreSQL.
• Experience with NoSQL databases, including MongoDB.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and containerd.
• Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Experience creating Helm charts to deploy containerized services to Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with messaging frameworks such as RabbitMQ and Kafka.
• Familiarity with CI/CD principles, methods and tools such as Bamboo and GitLab CI.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code principles, methods and tools, including Ansible.
• Experience using Git source control.
• Desired: experience with the Atlassian suite, including Jira and Confluence.

Conditions

Onsite work in Annapolis Junction, USA (MD).

Scheduled work of 40 hours per week.

No travel required.

Salary likely between $175,950 and $238,050. Final pay depends on experience, geographic location and possibly contract terms, and may fall outside this range.
