Software Development Engineer

Description

The company makes orthodontic products, including brackets and wires, and has done so for over 60 years. Its clear aligner software covers the full chain from raw dental X-ray scans to 3D models built with machine learning, and this role works on the first stage of that chain.

The company has helped create over 20 million smiles across more than 140 countries. You would join a large global team, with the focus on scan acquisition and processing.

Responsibilities

• Work with a distributed, international, cross-functional team to design and build new features for desktop and console tools that reconstruct patient anatomy from scans.
• Help refine features alongside product managers.
• Help the development team plan features for upcoming releases and sprints as part of an agile team.

Requirements

• Master's degree (MSc) in computer science, mathematics, or a closely related technical field.
• At least 5 years of professional C++ development.
• Hands-on experience building applications.
• Working knowledge of software design principles such as SOLID, YAGNI, and KISS.
• Deep understanding of agile practices, with a track record in agile teams.
• Experience writing robust unit and end-to-end tests, including mocking external endpoints, for both new and legacy code.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Nice to have: experience with 3D graphics.
• Nice to have: familiarity with geometry libraries such as CGAL, VTK, Embree, or similar.
• Nice to have: Python, particularly for batch testing or prototyping.
• Nice to have: exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Nice to have: frontend experience with TypeScript and React.
• Nice to have: experience with GitHub Copilot.

Conditions

Based in Madrid, working onsite 4 days a week.
