Description

The company builds healthcare technology used in interventional suites, and this role creates the software layer that interprets, forecasts and coordinates (neuro)endovascular procedures.

The role turns procedural data into insight on workflow, where automation can help, and clinical decision support.

Responsibilities

  • Build hierarchical workflow engines that coordinate medical devices and components in the interventional suite, such as imaging systems and robots.
  • Model endovascular procedure workflows, defining when each phase starts and ends and how real-world events are handled based on clinical context, system state and manual physician actions.
  • Design fail-safe workflows and handover methods for autonomous and semi-autonomous operation, including supervision logic, confidence thresholds and deterministic failure recovery.
  • Combine inputs from real-time multi-modal machine learning models and sensors, such as x-ray imaging and robots, to estimate system state in real time.
  • Work with computer vision and robotics teams to bring imaging-derived events and robot capabilities into the workflow architecture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional experts in a regulated medical device environment, working closely with development teams in Germany.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD in Robotics, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Systems Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with complex distributed systems, workflow modeling, state estimation, behavior trees, process automation, decision support or autonomous decision systems.
  • Strong grasp of software architecture, systems engineering and real-time systems.
  • Experience programming in languages such as Rust, Python or C++, and applying DevOps practices to software engineering.
  • Knowledge of neurovascular interventions, image-guided therapy, angiography or clinical workflow optimization is a plus.
  • Very good written and spoken English for working in an international team.
  • Creative, able to develop new ideas for image-guided therapy solutions, organised, self-motivated and customer-focused.

Conditions

Based in the interventional suite software area, with close coordination with teams in Germany.

Equal employment opportunity applies, and reasonable accommodations are available for persons with disabilities.

Applicants must be able to work with export-controlled technology under US export control law, which covers the EAR, ITAR and OFAC sanctions regulations.

Recruitment contact is by talent community profile only, not by emailed CV; be wary of scams posing as the company's recruiters.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Life insurance, and long-term and short-term disability insurance.
  • Paid parking or public transportation.
  • Paid time off and paid sick and safe time.
  • Base pay range is $114,920 to $158,015, with starting pay depending on geography or market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications.
  • Commission eligibility, where applicable, follows the company plan and depends on individual and/or company performance.
