Description

You will help design, build and tune intelligent control and regulation algorithms for modern heat pumps, which support the shift to cleaner energy.

The role sits in a cross-functional team developing the next generation of energy-efficient heating and cooling products.

The team is based in Tranås, Sweden, a town on Lake Sommen, at a site of more than 600 people who make and develop heating solutions.

The team works in an international, agile setup alongside experts in software, electronics, HMI, hydraulics and thermodynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop control and regulation functions for the latest heat pumps, pushing new algorithms for efficient, resource-saving heating and cooling.
  • Guide software functions from requirements and concept simulation through implementation and verification at the MIL, SIL and HIL levels.
  • Design and refine model-based software in Matlab/Simulink for closed-loop control of thermodynamic and hydraulic systems.
  • Write embedded software modules in text-based languages such as C/C++, using current engineering and AI-assisted tools.
  • Commission and test application software on advanced heat pump test benches, supporting rapid prototyping and validation on real systems.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in mechatronics, control systems, mechanical engineering, computer science, process engineering or a related technical field, or an equivalent practical engineering background.
  • A solid grounding in control engineering, mechatronic systems or thermodynamic processes.
  • Practical software development experience, either in model-based development with Matlab/Simulink or in text-based embedded programming with C/C++.
  • Working familiarity with software testing or simulation concepts such as MIL, SIL or HIL.
  • Working proficiency in English, written and spoken, at business level.
  • A solution-oriented approach, genuine interest in clean energy technology, and a willingness to learn and grow in an international team.
  • Several years of hands-on industry experience in embedded software or controls engineering.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles or hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with bus protocols and communication interfaces such as CAN, LIN, Modbus or MQTT.
  • Familiarity with agile practices such as Scrum or Kanban, and with CI/CD tooling such as Git, Jira or Jenkins.

Conditions

Flexible hours and hybrid work options are available.

The role is based at the company's site in Tranås, Sweden.

Benefits

  • Work that contributes to decarbonization and climate technology.
  • Competitive salary packages, collective agreements with unions and an occupational pension.
  • A wellness contribution, smart work arrangements, and on-site gym and yoga classes.
  • Access to up-to-date development tools, AI tooling, and technical and language training.
  • Laboratory and test bench facilities in an open, international team.
  • Support for personal goals such as career development, family time and hobbies.
