Site Reliability Engineer

Description

The company builds AI tools that help police, prosecutors, sheriffs and state investigators work through evidence faster.

Customers across the U.S. use the platform for cold cases, homicides, gang conflicts, sexual assault and other serious offenses, along with day-to-day administrative support.

The product is live with agencies nationwide.

The company is early-stage. You report directly to the CTO.

Responsibilities

• Run the full infrastructure across AWS, including GovCloud, and GCP, defined in Terraform and running on ECS.
• Build and maintain access control, encryption, logging and audit readiness that meet CJIS and government security rules, working with the compliance team.
• Provision and scale GPU capacity for LLM and ML workloads, balancing performance, reliability and cost.
• Own uptime, monitoring, alerting and incident response, catching failures before anyone else and fixing them quickly.
• Build CI/CD, environments and tooling so a small team can ship quickly without weakening security.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience.
• Interest in supporting U.S. government work and public safety.
• A bias toward action, comfort in very fast-paced settings, and a drive to do your best work.
• Treat security and compliance as engineering problems rather than paperwork.
• Comfortable working through open, unanswered questions at an early-stage company.
• Strong plus: experience with CJIS, FedRAMP or similar government environments.

Conditions

New York City is the preferred location. The Bay Area, California is also available, with hybrid arrangements possible.

Salary range is $160k-$250k, which may be adjusted based on experience and ability.

The company supports FBI background checks and the CJIS clearance process as needed.
