Description

The company builds high-performance, low-power generative AI inference systems, pairing custom silicon with hardware and software for hyperscaler and neocloud data center customers.

It is a well funded startup, and the team works across its headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA and Munich, Germany, with additional members remote across North America and Europe.

This role is for a Simulation and Modeling Engineer working on the functional model of the company's inference accelerator. It suits a strong software engineer who understands hardware, writes maintainable code and enjoys hard problems.

You will work with the architecture, hardware and software teams to model new features and keep the model accurate.

Responsibilities

  • Build new architecture features and algorithms into the model.
  • Investigate the cause whenever the model and the hardware disagree.
  • Create test suites, test plans and supporting test infrastructure for each new feature, and keep an eye on code coverage.
  • Keep the model documented and check it against the architecture specification and the RTL.
  • Assess new modeling techniques and adopt those that prove useful.
  • Help maintain and improve the codebase.

Requirements

  • Solid skill in modern C++.
  • Working knowledge of RTL and ASIC design methodology.
  • Sound grasp of hardware architecture.
  • Proficiency with build systems and toolchains.
  • Able to turn a loosely defined feature into tested, working code with little guidance.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and speaking, and work comfortably across teams.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field, plus 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Familiarity with SystemC and TLM-2.0.
  • Background in AI/ML accelerators or GPU architectures.
  • Exposure to high-performance computing work.
  • Python skills for scripts and tooling.
  • Hands-on use of debugging and analysis tools such as sanitizers, profilers and tracing.

Conditions

Team members are based at the Sunnyvale, CA and Munich, Germany headquarters or work remotely across North America and Europe.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits that extend to employees' families.
  • Pay that is competitive.
  • A choice of flexible spending options.
  • Recognition programs for team members.
