Description

This full-time role covers day-to-day management, upkeep and support of the program's SharePoint site collection.

The site uses standard out-of-the-box features with a modern workplace focus: an intelligent intranet, organization-wide communications, and a collaborative hub for each service team.

The work includes Teams, OneDrive, enhanced search, and PowerApps integration.

You will work with the Graphics and Communications Manager on a consistent site brand and identity.

You will write, distribute, and keep current a SharePoint Governance Plan.

You will lead and mentor SharePoint team members using PMI, Six Sigma, and Agile.

You will help set up a SharePoint office for changes, fixes, new service requests, and permissions, providing standard support 8 x 5.

The role is a regular employee position based in one or more locations, with up to 10% local travel.

Responsibilities

  • Build a SharePoint service desk based on industry standards.
  • Set up the team's workspace to hold documentation and records under agency or organization retention rules, and define processes, standard operating procedures, documentation requirements, and templates.
  • Design and build a desktop tool that lets users submit SharePoint service requests and report issues, with automatic qualification, prioritization, and assignment, plus a dashboard that tracks requests from queue to completion.
  • Gather requirements, then design, develop, test, and support solutions for the program's site collection, relying mainly on out-of-the-box configuration.
  • Run requirement sessions with each team, turn business needs into technical requirements, propose solutions, win approval, then build, test, and deploy them.
  • Prepare business requirements documents, work plans, and schedules for SharePoint projects, and keep the development team on track across several projects at once.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience as a SharePoint Developer, SharePoint Designer, or both.
  • 3 years of most recent experience leading a SharePoint (PowerApps) design project for a federal government agency or private sector organization, covering planning, requirement elicitation, use cases, design presentations, team assignments, and scheduling through completion.
  • At least 5 years of experience building project plans with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to analyze business processes and data and develop strategies to meet program needs.
  • Ability to gather and document requirements and turn them into efficient, effective solutions.
  • Ability to create wireframes and visual design comps, and to write technical documents such as business requirements documents, user acceptance test scripts, data dictionaries, and user stories.
  • Experience applying permissions and information security best practices when building SharePoint solutions.
  • Advanced SharePoint skills, including Nintex and workflows, plus strong skills in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with solid presentation skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy.
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills who can lead and work in a collaborative setting.
  • A strong work ethic and a commitment to client service.
