Service Engineer

Description

The company is a global developer and supplier of technologies, automation and services for the pulp, paper and energy industries, with over 20,000 professionals worldwide.

The Carolina team serves customers in pulp and paper and power generation and is hiring a customer-focused QCS/DCS specialist who works well with others.

People on the team come from many different backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Keep QCS and DCS equipment running at several customer sites through preventive and predictive work.
• Hold update meetings with customers.
• Train customers and work alongside their operations staff to confirm the equipment performs and is used as intended.
• Carry out system upgrades when needed.
• Change control logic where required.
• Run sensor correlations.
• Tune controls.
• Handle preventive and remedial maintenance.
• Support customers remotely by phone and internet.
• Write a report after each site visit.

Requirements

• Hold a bachelor's degree in electronic, instrumentation, mechatronics, chemical or paper engineering, plus relevant experience.
• Have a background in instrumentation and controls.
• Understand the basics of cyber security.
• Have a good grasp of virtual systems.
• Have worked in a QCS, DCS or quality support role.
• Work comfortably with Windows and networking, and use Word and Excel.
• Communicate well and feel at ease speaking with people at every level of an organization.
• Use tools correctly and safely.
• Be able to lift up to 30lbs.
• Diagnose faults well and pay close attention to detail.

Conditions

This is primarily a full-time role based in the North Carolina region.

Travel usually fits within the work week, though some weekend work can be expected.

This role is not open to international relocation; you must already live in the US and be authorized to work there.
