About this role

We are looking for an analytical, creative, and resourceful SEO/AEO Content Strategist to help grow the company’s visibility and authority across both traditional search engines and emerging answer engines such as ChatGPT and Google AI Mode.

This person will help research, identify, and execute content opportunities across the company’s owned properties to improve organic search and AI visibility. They will combine hands-on content creation, optimization, and refreshes with data-driven research to identify high-impact opportunities across the blog, landing pages, transactional pages, YouTube, and other relevant surfaces.

The ideal candidate combines strong content writing skills, editorial judgment, and SEO expertise. You’re curious about how AI is changing user behavior and content discovery, and you’re comfortable moving between strategy and execution. You use data and AI tools to scale content production while maintaining a high bar for quality. Above all, you always put the customer first.

Responsibilities

  • Help shape and execute the company’s content strategy across owned properties to grow organic visibility, qualified traffic, and authority across traditional search engines and AI answer engines like ChatGPT and Google AI Mode.
  • Conduct keyword, competitive, and search-intent research to identify high-impact topics, content gaps, and opportunities to improve the company’s organic visibility, AI citations, and qualified traffic.
  • Write, optimize, and refresh high-quality content across the company-owned properties, including the blog, landing pages, transactional pages, and YouTube. Apply SEO/AEO best practices to help independent retailers and small business owners discover the company and find answers to their questions.
  • Analyze content performance across organic traffic, keyword rankings, conversions, AI visibility, and citations to inform the company’s broader SEO/AEO content strategy. Translate insights into actionable recommendations and communicate performance and progress to key stakeholders.
  • Optimize content structure, internal linking, and on-page SEO to help search engines and AI platforms discover, understand, and cite the company’s content.
  • Build and optimize AI powered workflows to streamline research, drafting, content enrichment, optimization, and publishing while maintaining editorial standards and content quality.
  • Partner closely with Brand, Social, Product, Community, and Engineering to strengthen the company’s authority and build a consistent, differentiated source of information about wholesale and independent retail.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of experience in SEO, content marketing, editorial strategy, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of growing organic traffic, AI visibility, and conversions.
  • Strong foundation in SEO and content marketing, with working knowledge of AEO and how AI platforms discover, retrieve, and cite content.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging, and useful content for small business audiences.
  • Highly analytical, with experience using performance data to identify opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and measure the impact of content on business outcomes.
  • Proficiency with SEO and analytics tools such as Google Search Console, SEMrush, Conductor, and AI visibility platforms; able to independently analyze performance and develop recommendations.
  • Experience with content automation platforms such as AirOps, or building AI-powered workflows to improve content workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and scale execution, is a plus.
  • High agency and resourcefulness, with the ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
