Sentinel Sr Principal Supplier Mission Assurance Engineer - 12171-2

Description

The company designs and builds systems in air and space, with work that supports national defense and scientific discovery. The team is Supplier Mission Assurance, and this is a senior role within it.

Relocation assistance may be available. A Secret clearance is required before start.

Travel is 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Run on-site surveillance of major suppliers and take responsibility for the quality of the products they deliver.
• Build and put into practice supplier quality evaluation and control systems, and manage supplier quality risk.
• Check that supplier processes and products meet contract, regulatory and technical requirements.
• Work directly with supplier staff, assessing their quality and manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Carry out product and process verification, track supplier quality performance, and lead root cause corrective action analysis.
• Handle supplier requests for waivers and deviations, and manage the discrepancy reporting process.
• Keep management informed about supplier performance, quality status and risks.
• Coordinate and oversee the Supplier Quality plan across all program phases.
• Take an active part in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection within the Business Acquisition Process and when new procurements arise on existing programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in science and 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and 6+ years, or a PhD and 4 years of experience.
• US citizen holding an active DoD Secret clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
• Able to be screened successfully for Enhanced Security Clearances within a timeframe the company sets based on its business needs.
• Experience developing, planning and implementing quality methods and strategies for procured items, covering design, procurement, acceptance and use.
• Experience working with suppliers, customers, teams and/or management.
• Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 requirements.
• Able to travel 25% to 50% of the time.
• Preferred: STEM degree.
• Preferred: Proven knowledge of AS9100 or ISO9001 requirements, plus lead auditor experience against these standards.
• Preferred: Extensive experience working onsite with aerospace or defense suppliers.
• Preferred: General experience with special processes.
• Preferred: Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action.
• Preferred: Six Sigma or Lean certification.

Conditions

Based in the Los Angeles, CA area. Candidates must live in Los Angeles or be willing to relocate.

Works a 9/80 schedule: nine-hour days Monday through Thursday, with every other Friday off.

Full-time position.

The base salary range for this role is $117,500.00 to $176,300.00. Actual offers depend on the scope of the role and on the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
