Description

Younger generations are estimated to inherit $124 trillion in assets over the next two decades.

The Options Web team builds the web experiences customers use to trade options, across the main website and the company's web trading platform for active traders.

The team's work covers trading flows, options onboarding for new customers, and monitoring tools, including the options parts of the positions widget and the option chain tool on the trading platform.

You will work with product managers, designers, and the mobile options team, and your work reaches customers quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as tech lead for options on web and set direction on platform topics such as performance and observability
  • Design, build, test, and release features in React and TypeScript across trading flows, options onboarding, and monitoring tools
  • Own projects from start to finish, including large efforts that span several teams
  • Split large projects into smaller pieces and guide other engineers as they build them
  • Investigate complex performance and data problems, including options calculations, find the root cause, and set up monitoring to catch issues early
  • Work with product managers and designers, and with content designers when needed, to shape and ship customer-facing features
  • Coordinate with the mobile options team so options features feel consistent across platforms

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong web engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience building production web applications in React and TypeScript
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with a track record of finding root causes in performance and data problems
  • Experience owning projects from design through development, testing, and rollout
  • Experience leading projects and setting technical direction, such as improving performance or observability
  • Ability to explain technical tradeoffs clearly to engineers, product managers, and designers
  • Nice to have: familiarity with options trading or other fintech and trading products (no options experience is required, and the company will teach you the domain)
  • Nice to have: prior tech lead experience, including at smaller companies
