Description

The company makes a cloud security platform, the Zero Trust Exchange, which connects users, devices and applications from any location. It runs across more than 200 public data centers worldwide and thousands of private edge sites, making it the largest in-line cloud security platform of its kind.

The company is building an AI-native organisation and is focused on security problems that are hard to solve. The team values ownership, collaboration, customer outcomes and open feedback.

This is a remote Technical Marketing Engineer role in the Product Management department, reporting to the Director, Technical Marketing Engineer. The role focuses on technical enablement, customer validation and field readiness for the next generation of Zero Trust Branch solutions. It suits a hands-on practitioner who enjoys solving real enterprise networking problems and helping customers adopt the product across distributed edge environments.

Responsibilities

  • Own and run hands-on Proof of Value (PoV) engagements, architecture demos and pilot evaluations with enterprise prospects and customers, proving technical fit and helping close deals.
  • Design, deploy and maintain resilient physical and virtual lab networks that mirror enterprise branch, edge and retail topologies, and use them to test product behaviour, interoperability and scale.
  • Act as the technical escalation link between field teams and core engineering. Diagnose, reproduce and fix critical L2/L3 issues, segmentation problems and packet-level anomalies during live customer pilots.
  • Write production-ready technical content, including deployment runbooks, reference architectures, white papers, competitive test plans and solution briefs that standardise best practice and shorten post-sales time to value.
  • Build and deliver technical training, workshops and webinars for Systems Engineers, professional services and channel partner architects so they can deploy the product on their own across distributed environments.

Requirements

  • Take ownership of your work, balance long-term planning with hands-on execution, and act with integrity and accountability.
  • Put the customer first, understand the problems of internal and external stakeholders, and work to make them succeed.
  • Move quickly and focus on delivering high-quality, high-impact results in a fast-growing environment.
  • Stay curious, enjoy complex technical problems, and use technology to build secure, scalable solutions.
  • Show curiosity about AI tools and a record of adopting new technology to improve your daily work and problem solving.
  • Have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in technical marketing, solutions architecture or advanced systems engineering, with deep knowledge of enterprise routing, switching, TCP/IP, L2/L3 segmentation and tunnelling protocols (WireGuard, IPsec, VxLAN).
  • Have a proven record of leading and closing hands-on customer PoV pilots and executive architecture evaluations in complex enterprise and distributed edge networks.
  • Be proficient at building and running multi-vendor physical and virtual lab topologies using bare-metal appliances, hypervisors (ESXi, KVM) and network emulators (EVE-NG, GNS3).
  • Be skilled in packet analysis and troubleshooting with Wireshark, tcpdump and traffic generators, including diagnosing real-time routing faults, latency and jitter, MTU problems and NAT or firewall traversal issues.
  • Have a track record of writing production-grade technical content (runbooks, reference architectures, white papers) and running enablement sessions for sales engineering, professional services and partner teams.
  • Preferred: show that you use AI tools and workflows to achieve measurable efficiency gains.
  • Preferred: have practical experience with Python, Bash, or infrastructure-as-code and configuration tools such as Ansible, Terraform or REST APIs, used to automate lab builds, test runs and routine networking tasks.
  • Preferred: understand public cloud networking (AWS VPCs and Transit Gateways, Azure Virtual WAN, GCP Cloud Routers) or container networking (Docker, Kubernetes) that links distributed branch edges to cloud workloads.
  • Preferred: hold a networking or security certification (for example CCIE/CCNP Enterprise or Security, JNCIP or PCNSE), or have direct architecture experience with retail, kiosk, IoT/OT or cellular WAN/5G failover deployments.
