Description

The company's firmware team helps turn new AI computing hardware into production datacenter systems.

This senior role supports customers as they bring the company's platforms up, from first system bring-up and reference platform qualification through to deployment at scale.

The work spans firmware engineering, platform architecture and customer enablement, and you will use AI tools to speed up development and solve hard system problems.

Responsibilities

  • Write, integrate and debug SBIOS firmware for the company's datacenter reference platforms and customer systems.
  • Help customers, OEMs and ODMs bring up, qualify and deploy platforms by fixing firmware faults, guiding integration and turning deployment needs into engineering changes.
  • Maintain reference platforms through their lifecycle by setting validated firmware configurations, documenting platform behavior and making solutions reusable across customer designs.
  • Track down problems that cross firmware, hardware, BMC and operating system boundaries, including boot, hardware initialization, PCIe enumeration, memory configuration, performance and reliability.
  • Work with hardware, firmware, software, validation and customer engineering teams to take issues from reproduction and root cause analysis to verified fixes and customer adoption.
  • Use AI-assisted development, debugging and automation to analyze logs, speed up root cause work, expand test coverage and turn recurring support problems into scalable fixes.
  • Build diagnostic tools, automated tests and technical guidance that improve platform readiness and help customers deploy and run their systems.
  • Explain technical findings, risks and resolution plans clearly to internal teams and external partners.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or a related field, or have equivalent experience, plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Have strong experience developing and debugging System BIOS/UEFI firmware on ARM or x86 server platforms, with familiarity with EDK II architecture.
  • Understand server architecture well, including processor initialization, memory systems, PCIe, interrupts, boot flows and how SBIOS, BMC and the operating system interact.
  • Show you can diagnose complex system faults using firmware logs, operating system diagnostics, hardware interfaces and structured experiments.
  • Have supported server bring-up, platform qualification or customer deployment, owning technical issues through to resolution.
  • Be strong in C and use Python or shell scripting to build diagnostic tools and automate engineering work.
  • Have hands-on experience applying AI tools to software development, debugging, testing or technical analysis, and the judgment to independently verify generated code and conclusions.
  • Understand server reliability, availability and serviceability (RAS), firmware security and the demands of production datacenter environments.
  • Communicate well in writing and speaking, work directly with customers and partners, and drive progress across global engineering teams.
  • Ways to stand out: proven experience enabling customer deployments of the company CPU or GPU server platforms, from early bring-up through production.
  • Ways to stand out: deep expertise in ARM server architecture, UEFI, ACPI, SMBIOS or firmware interfaces with Linux.
  • Ways to stand out: experience debugging issues that span SBIOS, BMC and platform management interfaces such as IPMI, MCTP and PLDM.
  • Ways to stand out: a track record of building AI-assisted engineering workflows that measurably improve debugging speed, software quality or support efficiency.
  • Ways to stand out: experience turning reference platform designs and customer deployment lessons into reusable tools, documentation and validation coverage.
